Teenager’s Goal and Guijarro Strike Decide Logroño Match

Teenager’s goal and Guijarro strike decide the match in LogroñoTeenager’s header and Guijarro’s strike lift Barcelona past Logroño United

Barcelona fielded a heavily rotated side after their Champions debut and before the Clasico, yet still scraped three points against Logroño United. The visitors struggled to find rhythm, but a fifteen‑year‑old header from Mayssa and a second‑half strike by Patri secured the win. Aitana returned after three months, and two dubious penalties were reviewed, one in each box. Can a teenager really decide a match?

Will Barcelona restore its rhythm in the next fixture?

After a slow start, Barcelona dominated possession but created few chances, while Logroño United limped on with injuries and U‑20 World Cup absences. Mayssa’s early corner header tilted the balance firmly toward Barcelona.

When Graham surged down the right flank, danger followed, yet Romeu’s side failed to control the midfield. Logroño United pressed effectively and began exploiting the numerous turnovers in the middle third.

The home side threatened mainly through Isina, who earned a penalty claim against Carolina Ferrara for a clutch on Falfán that could have been correctly awarded. Early in the second half she rattled the goal with a shot that clanged on the post.

Romeu gradually introduced fresh legs, bringing Patri to steady the centre, Paredes for calm distribution, Brugts to add bite inside, and Pajor to support Mayssa on the left, a spot usually occupied by Pina, who stayed on the bench as a precaution.

Logroño United squandered several chances, but once Barcelona regained control, Guijarro shone, sealing the match with a brilliant strike from the edge of the box that left Miralles helpless.

Until the final whistle, Logroño kept chasing a goal, and Isina’s restless runs forced a last‑minute save from Gemma Font in added time.

In my view, Barcelona’s rotation exposed a lack of cohesion, even though Aitana returned and the 15‑year‑old Mayssa celebrated her debut with the opening goal.
