2022 Copa De La Familia summary
As we head into this year’s edition, let’s take a quick look at the 2022 tournament. Last year, the qualifiers were replaced by the eMLS Amateur Cup – Inter Miami, a league tournament to crown the best amateur player in North America. eMLS Amateur Cup Winner – Inter Miami played each of the other MLS regional winners to win a trip to the MLS Cup on November 5, 2022. Along with the winner of the eMLS Amateur Cup, the 2nd and 3rd place teams competed. in the Copa De La Familia together with Inter Miami players Robbie Robinson, George Acosta and Edison Azcona. In 2022, Edison Azcona’s team, the Amateur Cup winner and runner-up, beat the team of Robbie Robinson, George Acosta and the Amateur Cup third place finalists 9-5 on aggregate.
2023 Copa De La Familia: Team Fray vs Team Miller
Two lucky fans from the 2023 eMLS Amateur Cup were selected to compete in the 2023 Copa De La Familia, where Team Miller, captained by defender Kamal Miller, will compete against Team Fray, captained by midfielder Ian Fray. The tournament will take place at the XBTO NW Club at DRV PNK Stadium on Friday, October 27, 2023 at 8:00 PM ET.
