Arsenal vs Sheffield United - Premier League: TV channel, team news, lineups and predictions

Arsenal aim to extend their Premier League winning streak this weekend when they host bottom-placed Sheffield United on Saturday afternoon.

The Gunners, fresh from a vital 2-1 win over Sevilla in the Champions League, go into this weekend’s clash knowing that victory could see them go top of the Premier League, depending on the outcome of Tottenham’s clash with Crystal Palace on Friday.

Meanwhile, Sheffield United are simply aiming to climb out of the relegation zone after picking up just one point so far this season. The Blades have lost five games in a row and Paul Heckingbottom is still looking for a first Premier League win.

Here’s everything you need to know for Arsenal v Sheffield United this weekend.

Despite scoring and assisting in midweek, Gabriel Jesus could miss Arsenal’s clash with Sheffield United. The Brazilian admitted after the game that he had injured his hamstring in Sevilla, but the striker was now set to undergo scans.

Mikel Arteta said after the game: “He felt something in his thigh. Let’s see. He immediately asked to be submitted which is not good news because Gabi is not a player who does that at all so we will have to wait and see. the next few days.”

Thomas Partey also missed the trip to Spain with a muscle injury, but should be fit to face the Blades. Jurrien Timber is still on a long-term absence.

Arsenal predicted team against Sheffield United (4-3-3): Raya; White, Saliba, Gabriel, Zinchenko; Odegaard, Rice, Havertz; Saka, Nketiah, Martinelli.

Heckingbottom’s extensive injury list is unlikely to help him turn the tide, especially given Sheffield United’s current defensive slump.

Chris Basham, John Egan and Anel Ahmedhodzic are all out for the foreseeable future, with potentially months in the treatment room for all three defenders. George Baldock is closing in on a return but is not fit, perhaps rested for the trip to the Emirates, while Rhys Norrington-Davies and Max Lowe are still out.

Midfielder Tom Davies has also been on the sidelines for months, while the trip to north London is likely to come too soon for striker William Osula.

Oli McBurnie is a slight fitness concern despite scoring against Manchester United last weekend, who could miss out with a groin strain. Goalkeeper Adam Davies is expected to be fit again, but Daniel Jebbison is still out due to illness.

Sheffield United predicted team against Arsenal (4-3-1-2): Foderingham; Bogle, Trusty, Robinson, Thomas; Hamer, Souza, Norwood, McAtee; McBurnie, Archer.

The fact that Arsenal are yet to lose a game and Sheffield United are yet to win a game in the Premier League pretty much tells you all you need to know about this game.

The Gunners are strong, heavy favorites for this game and should have little trouble dismantling an injury-hit Sheffield United side low on quality and confidence.

The Blades have given a decent account of themselves in a number of games against top teams this season, but a visit to the Emirates is likely to prove fruitless for Heckingbottom’s men.
